Skim coat over wallpaper5/28/2023 ![]() If you notice cracks, scraping or chips out of the drywall, you should take the necessary steps to repair it before you start painting. Take several minutes to inspect the surface of your walls. Repair Any Damage To Your DrywallĪfter the walls of your room have undergone such rigorous treatment, it’s likely that they have cracked or have scrapes on them. Extra pressure behind a sander or piece of sandpaper could lead to you sanding down the surface of your walls, making them uneven in spots. While sanding, be careful not to place too much pressure on the wall. If you notice a thick or uneven skim coating of glue on a wall or walls throughout the entire room, consider using an electric sander or a piece of sandpaper. Sanding will help remove any thick layers of glue residue and smooth out the surface of the walls. Sand Down The WallĪfter the wall has been washed, let it completely dry before deciding whether you need to sand it down. One coat of solution may not be enough to make a large difference so apply as many as needed, just be careful about how much water is used. The solution will soak into the adhesive and – if you have great luck and the adhesive is water-based – will remove it easily. Using the sponge, apply the mixture to the walls to remove any excess glue. ![]() It’s best to keep the amount of water on your sponge to a minimum. Too much warm water could soak into framing materials, drywall, and insulation and badly damage your walls. Then dip a sponge in the solution and ring the excess out of it. In a large bucket, mix hot water with 1 cup of vinegar and a bit of fabric softener. While items like a sponge, bucket and water are typically used in a wallpaper removal job, they can also help remove wallpaper glue that remains on the surface of walls. Remove Excess Glue Residue & Apply Solution ![]() This will protect your flooring and the rest of your home from drips or any accidents. Also, tape both your baseboards and crown moulding with painter’s tape and lay a tarp or sheet over the floor. If that is not possible, cover it with a sheet of plastic. Removing and painting over glue can create quite a mess. Prepare The Areaīefore you begin removing the glue residue, take the time to prepare the area for your work. This is mixing glue left from your wallpaper. Consider employing professional wallpaper installers to remove the wallpaper for you.Īfter removing wallpaper, you will notice that there is a coat of sticky adhesive left on the surface of your walls. While some may find removing wallpaper to be easy, others may be overwhelmed by the job – especially if their entire home is covered in wallpaper. Most wallcoverings like vinyl wallpaper can be removed using a steamer, hot water, or spray bottle. The first step to painting directly over wallpaper glue is to first remove the old wallpaper.

Avast secureline vpn discount5/28/2023 ![]() ![]() This highlights the customer profile that Avast is targeting with its software: VPN beginners who simply want to unblock websites and services as fast as possible and not waste time trying to understand protocols and other technical tweaks. As a matter of fact, there isn’t much to do with Avast SecureLine other than choosing a server and activating the VPN or choosing the client’s behavior every time a connection is established on a new Wi-Fi network. We always like to use this term when VPN apps get straight to the point. Sadly there are no other extra features to make it worthy of that term, though at least P2P is supported. Nevertheless, SecureLine VPN has one of the simplest desktop clients we’ve ever seen, making this yet another in a long line of ‘connect & go’ tools. This alone could explain the lack of some features that are usually seen with such programs and why others are not clearly visible on the main screen – as is typical – but buried within the FAQ, instead. Featuresįirst of all, it’s worth keeping in mind that Avast does not solely produce a VPN service, but is instead a security company that is also offering a VPN tool. This is due to a server network that features impressive speeds even on overseas locations, trustworthy security measures and support for computer and mobile devices. SecureLine VPN was born and while it still has a long way to go to be able to compete with the biggest VPN companies, at the same time it still has a lot of reasons to be considered as the service for you. But VPN services are on the rise in popularity and the Czech company couldn’t miss the opportunity to develop its own solution, too. Avast Software is one of the most well-established software companies in the world, responsible for several online security tools like a renowned antivirus, a registry cleaner, a secure browser and more.

Ishare silver trust stock price5/28/2023 ![]() 3 holding Pan American Silver ( PAAS (opens in new tab), 9%) is a direct miner with assets throughout the Americas. (Just note that like some of SIL's other holdings, it has exposure to gold, too, so it's not perfect silver-mining exposure.) No. Top holding Wheaton Precious Metals ( WPM (opens in new tab), 26% of assets), for instance, currently boasts streaming agreements for 20 operating mines and nine development-stage projects. The Global X Silver Miners ETF, which has been kicking around for more than a decade now, holds more than 30 companies involved in mining – some are actual miners, while others hold royalty or streaming interests in mining operations. So, if you own silver mining stocks that have low production costs while silver prices are increasing, you're typically in a good place. Here's what you need to know about mining stocks: These companies extract ore and process it – and if they can do that at a lower price than what they sell that metal for, they produce a profit. Rather than investing in the metal itself, it invests in the companies that pull silver out of the ground. Global X Silver Miners ETF ( SIL (opens in new tab), $27.80) isn't like the first two names featured on this list of the best silver ETFs. Assets under management: $937.9 million.Learn more about SIVR at the Abrdn provider site. While Abrdn's fund has decent enough liquidity for buy-and-holders, SLV's superior liquidity is much more attractive to agile traders looking to get precise entry and exit prices from the best silver ETFs. But SLV is also a much more liquid fund, trading 17 million shares daily versus less than 1 million for SIVR. Part of it is iShares' first-mover advantage (SIVR launched three years after SLV). So why does SLV hold so much more in assets than SIVR? And because the two silver ETFs track the same metal pretty closely, their charts tend to look almost identical – though SIVR has performed marginally better over time thanks to its lower expenses. ![]() SIVR shares represent an interest in that silver, minus the fund's expenses. Both are backed by physical silver, though in Abrdn's case, all the metal – in the form of silver bullion bars – is held in London vaults. There's scant difference between SIVR and SLV. If you want the oldest and largest silver ETF, SLV is your fund.īut you'll have to look somewhere else for the cheapest way to buy the metal.Ībrdn Physical Silver Shares ETF ( SIVR (opens in new tab), $21.11) is another physically backed silver ETF, this one significantly less expensive than SLV – fees are 20 basis points (a basis point is one one-hundredth of a percentage point) lower than iShares' offering. Learn more about SLV at the iShares provider site. Regardless, unless you're truly worried about an apocalyptic scenario, SLV and other silver ETFs will do just fine for most investors. Thus, tax-advantaged accounts like IRAs are the best investment accounts (opens in new tab) for holding these kinds of funds. In other words, if you hold for more than a year, you still don't enjoy the advantaged long-term capital gains rate, which tops out at 20% – instead, you pay a collectibles capital gains rate, which tops out at 28%. This method does share one downside with holding physical metals, which is that ETFs backed by physical metals are also treated like collectibles from a tax perspective. Thus, SLV shares are a physically backed representation of the price of silver. The fund, which launched in 2006, currently holds more than 480 million ounces of physical silver in its vaults, located in England and the U.S. SLV, as mentioned before, is the largest silver ETF and the most popular publicly traded way to invest in silver. That includes silver ETFs such as the iShares Silver Trust ( SLV (opens in new tab), $20.20). ![]() Thus, for exposure to silver, "you might be better off buying an ETF or even playing the futures market," Sizemore says. ![]() Rather than find someone to buy bars or bullion from, then arrange delivery, then find somewhere safe to store the metal, then deal with the difficulty of finding a buyer when you're ready to unload it, ETFs such as SLV allow you to buy and sell silver with the click of a button in your brokerage account.Īpart from being heavy and difficult to store, physical silver can also trade at a large premium to spot prices. Expenses: 0.50%, or $50 annually for every $10,000 investedįor most investors, ETFs are a much better way to play gold, silver and other precious metals than actually owning the metal itself.

The collaboratory down the road5/28/2023 History holds our stories and depicts moments in time for personal reflection. Memorials are memorials for a reason, they remind us of our history. The themes of respect and desire of freedom woven into this exhibit provided the perfect opening mindset for those on the tour.Īs the sun set, guests boarded an Old Town Trolly for the Monuments by Moonlight tour, a fun way to view D.C. The entire exhibit centered on what it means to be an American and who deserves the freedom that comes with it - a negotiation that continues today. However, one exhibit stood out in particular titled, "Many Voices, One Nation." It drew me in to explore how the many voices of people in America have shaped our nation. While at the Smithsonian, several exhibits related to the themes of Abraham Lincoln & Frederick Douglass, A Walk To Respect. ![]() Twenty-six people joined me on this purposeful endeavor beginning with a self-guided tour of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History and ending with a post-play reception. In putting this package together, each activity was intentionally selected to inspire meaningful thinking and engagement around the play's themes and continuously build on one another. for the play and other activities that further this theme, I joyfully got to work. So, when Beth approached me to create a tour package for Sarasotans to join us in D.C. This play is as relevant today as it would be during the Civil War, reminding us of the need to find ways to communicate, even when we disagree, but not by being disagreeable. The brilliance of this one-act play highlights a friendship I never knew existed - the friendship between Lincoln and Douglass.įor the time period, this relationship is significant for many reasons, one of the most critical ones being respecting each other and finding common ground through shared aspirations, especially when we have differences. This is what I imagine to be part of Beth Duda's inspiration for writing the play Abraham Lincoln & Frederick Douglass, A Walk To Respect, which went on the road for the very first time for two performances at The John F. Finally, we were able to brainstorm opportunities for where community hubs may form, based on which stakeholders we leverage."Improvements in one place are not necessarily transferable to other places we remain a world divided," Joni Seager, The Women's Atlas. At the center we have the student, in the next ring is the direct support system, and at the outer ring we have indirect support. ![]() ![]() We then grouped similar keywords together to form clusters, and then grouped them into rings on the territory map. The mapping process started with us listing out all the stakeholders related to the theme. After a round of voting, we agreed on “Schools as Community Hubs”. ![]() We looked at PPS’s 11 educational system shifts and picked out ones that we were most interested in. We want to use a territory map to help us surface these potential problem spaces and opportunities. Territory Mapīecause the brief for this project is so broad, we needed to quickly narrow down our scope. After closely comparing the two schools, we decided to move forward with Portland Public School because their graduate portraits include attributes that proposes change to a global social environment, including racial injustice and systems that perpetuate oppression.

Popshot magazinr5/27/2023 ![]() It’s not a child gone missing or bloody murder, it’s conversations between husband and wife, doctor and patient. It’s not a thrilling adventure, it’s ordinary people’s everyday lives. The Unbearable Lightness of Janet Clark left an intangibly surreal but left a deep impression on me. I don’t like the stories in issue 20 as much. If there are any good poets for beginners, please let me know! My Three Favourite StoriesĪll the ones below are from issue 18. ![]() Surely poems are not just normal sentences broken into multiple lines minus punctuation? Sorry if it sounds rude or ignorant, I never learnt English poetry. In addition, they look like people just formatted a normal essay into shorter lines. There are poems where I understand every word individually, but not put together. Not just difficult vocabulary or grammar. I don’t understand them most of the time. Last but not least, Popshot is very reasonably priced (£6) as an independent magazine and it has, very impressively, no adverts! About Poems My standard is, would I want to stick it in my diary or put it on my wall?) They might not all be to my taste but the artworks are all bold and very interesting! (My favourite one in issue 20 is the illustration for Resting on page 54. There is a big variety of illustration styles. The authors have to do the job themselves. It might work for newspapers or news magazines as an attention-grabber, but I don’t think fictional articles need that. Pull quotes in bright colour and in the san serif font. Layout: Simple one column most of the time. The average number of words per line: about 15. A very simple and non-distracting font, which serves its purpose well: To present the stories neatly and clearly.Į. – The first impression is young and modern.ĭ. The ‘feature’ text like titles is a san serif font. – Matt is far better for long-form reading.Ĭ. Matt paper stock for the cover and inside. It has an informal and friendly feeling.ī. Easy to hold, to carry around and to read. Because it’s a literary magazine, I’ll study the design in terms of how well it serves the purpose of long-form reading.Ī.

Splineeq review5/27/2023 ![]() You get five bands of their Oxford Type-3 EQ filters, which offer proportional-Q and an onset detection feature. With so much movement going on, you need an EQ you can trust, and Sonnox’ EQ pedigree makes this a dependable little plugin. If you’re not familiar with Dynamic EQ, imagine that every band has its own compressor settings, and you’re basically there. Free Demos at Plugin BoutiqueĮverybody should have at least one dynamic EQ in their collection, and we reckon it should be this one. "RHODES" is a registered trademark of Joseph A Brandstetter. In this video, producer Tim Cant runs through 5 of the most popular, some might say best, software EQ plugins (VST) money can buy. Plugin Boutique or its Suppliers do not accept any liability in relation to the content of the product or the accuracy of the description. Any goodwill attached to those brands rest with the brand owner. Plugin Boutique do not have (nor do they claim) any association with or endorsement by these brands. For example references to instrument brands are provided to describe the sound of the instrument and/or the instrument used in the sample. Important Note: macOS 10.15 Catalina and macOS 11 are NOT supported.Īny references to any brands on this site/page, including reference to brands and instruments, are provided for description purposes only. All input, output and processing are done in 64-bit floating point format and in stereo. Also supports all sampling rates (384 kHz included), is available on both Windows and Mac, in VST (2.4) and AU format, in 32 and 64 bits. However SplineEQ FREE is as fast or faster than other linear phase equalizers, often with less latency. Good performance. Linear phase equalizers always require more power than other types of equalizers. The resolution of the filter can be lowered or increased (up to roughly 22 Hz) and the processing latency can be changed to obtain a lower CPU usage or a lower latency. ![]() ![]() Adjustable resolution, latency and CPU usage.Smooth transitions. Changing parameters, either by adjusting the knobs, the graph or by parameter automation is always done smoothly and creates no audio artifacts.Given the uniquely immense gain range there's also a built-in limiter whose knob lights up when over the adjustable threshold. Gains are represented logarithmically between -60 dB and +60 dB and linearly below -60 dB. -Infinite dB to +60 dB gain range. This allows you to completely silence entire ranges of the spectrum or to really bring back some fainter harmonics by boosting their amplitude thousandfold.Smooth and fluid graphics. The whole interface responds fluidly to change, even the frequency visualisation has a great frame rate and all the graphics are perfectly anti-aliased.It moves in a fluid manner in sync with the source sound and has a frequency resolution of about 10 Hz. It's also fine tuned so that intensities at different frequencies are represented in a way that matches closely to our perception. Frequency analyser. More intuitive than your usual logarithmic curve frequency display, this frequency analyser shows you the intensity of frequencies before and after the filtering with colours.Simple curve modification functions. You can modify the curve as a whole using the transpose function to shift the curve up and down by up to 10 octaves, affect the overall gain to shift all gain settings up or down evenly or even change the gain scale to apply a ratio to all gains, thus enabling you to either flatten, exaggerate or reverse the shape of a curve. You can create or disable bands by double clicking on the visualisation area of the interface and adjust them either in that area or using the knobs or even the automatable parameter sliders in the host's interface. The actual filter's frequency profile is displayed as a dashed curve when it differs from the ideal spline curve (this can be changed by changing the filter's resolution). No filter types to choose from, all points simply define part of the shape of the filter's spline curve. Spline-based filter design. Filters are simply created by designing a spline curve which can be made to adopt any imaginable shape. Also has the advantage of not incurring aliasing artifacts. Linear phase equalizer. Offers a better sound quality than the more common minimum phase equalizers by not affecting the phase of sound, only the intensity of frequencies, which makes it easier to achieve good sounding results. Also the free version cannot open or save presets. This free version only has up to 4 bands as opposed to up to 60 bands. Please Note: This is the FREE VERSION of the SplineEQ.

Rules of survival for mac download5/27/2023 PUBG Corporation's lawsuit asserts that Rules of Survival is "a copyrightable audio-visual work, individually and/or in combination with other elements of Battlegrounds", and identified several elements that appear similar in both games. Prior to the release of their mobile versions, PUBG Corporation initiated a legal action in the Northern District Court of California against NetEase Games in January 2018, claiming that their mobile games Rules of Survival and Knives Out infringe PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds ' copyrights. The currencies can then be used to purchase supply box containing cosmetic items for character or weapon customization. Random supply drops will also occur during match, providing random items which may otherwise not be able to be found during normal gameplay.Īt the completion of each round, players will receive in-game currencies based on survival length, number of players killed by the player and the players level. This increases the chance of encounter, and thus confrontation between players. As the game time progresses, the game's safe zone will gradually reduce in size, where players caught outside the zone will take damage. The game also offers first-person mode which forces players into first-person perspective. In third-person mode, players can switch between third-person and first-person perspective. Players can also loot killed players for their gear. When the countdown finishes, players will parachute from a plane onto an island, with procedurally distributed items such as weapons, armors and medical kits available to be looted, and vehicles to be ridden. The round starts with all players contained in one location on an island. Blitzkrieg is meant to make players clash head-on. ![]() The introduction of the Fearless Fiord game map introduces a new type of match, the Blitzkrieg, in which players will land only on a certain part of the map equipped with a pistol, a backpack and basic armor. There are also different game modes such as the Gold Mode, in which the player can earn gold, or the Diamond Mode in which players may earn diamonds throughout the match. There are two playable maps in the game: Ghillie Island (120 players, 4.8 km × 4.8 km) and Fearless Fiord (300 players, 8 km × 8 km). In either case, the last person or team left alive wins the match. Players can choose to enter the match in different modes: Solo, Duo, Squad (four players), or a Fireteam (five players). Rules of Survival follows the standard form of the battle royale genre, where players fight to be the last person (or team) alive.

Happy bones music5/27/2023 ![]() It is essential for parents to teach their children to live in a balanced manner, and that balance can be brought in through a happy and positive state of mind, which is achieved through the pursuit of yoga, meditation, exposure to the arts and crafts, and experiencing nature. Happiness, on the other hand, is a life-long pursuit. Children excel but so many of them quit early. But what is missing is the pursuit of holistic and happy living. Parents know the techniques of excelling. Children know a lot of information about the world and many can put a world map together at the age of two. In today’s world, the focus is on excellence or doing exceedingly well in different fields, be it academics, sports, music or dance. Since their bones are still developing, we cannot make babies do any kind of yoga asanas but connecting with nature and the power of music, prayers with the correct pronunciation and love are very essential. While the baby is in the womb, it is advised to expose the child to beautiful mythological stories and music. Our scriptures say that even before a child a conceived, the mother must listen to beautiful stories of bravery, strength, good morals and music. Sharma talks about how to lead children on the path to holistic spiritual development. The pursuit of true happiness is the need of the hour,” she says. ![]() “Being on the path of holistic development attracts positive energies from the universe and raises the consciousness of an individual. The purpose, she says, is to draw people into mindful, holistic living in happiness rather than mere material and commercial highs. The book is aimed at children above the age of five years and their families to encourage people to engage in fun activities with easy-to-understand directions. And a good way to begin is to start young-a reason Barkha Sharma has authored a beautifully illustrated book, Global Little Yogis, that is a mélange of 30 yoga asanas, suggestions on Indian raagas, global classic music, spirit animals and spirit trees with their symbolic meanings, mythological stories, art, ancient practices of various cultures the world over. They have to be blended with art, music, nature, prayer and food to create and enjoy a holistic spiritual experience. It is said that yoga or pranayama cannot be practised in isolation to understand their true spirit.

Music prodigy child5/27/2023 ![]() The majority of psychological research agrees-children learn best through play and through exercising that creative muscle-the imagination. And they put so much pressure on themselves to be successful. The children in our society and particularly this demographic are so incredibly overbooked they don’t have time to be kids. In fact, this is the second thing that bothers me about the elusive instant musical prodigy article. Music doesn’t have to be tedious or anxiety provoking to be helping the child progress. Of course he was wildly successful and talented, but talk about parental pressure. He was then dragged from court to court to play in front of foreign dignitaries and royalty. No bulleted list is going to change that.īy the way, Mozart, even with his extraordinary talent, was forced and physically threatened by his father to practice for long hours on the piano throughout the night from a young age. Prodigies are the incredibly rare exception, not the rule. Reading a buzzfeed article is not going to help the vast majority of children write their first symphony at age 9 like Mozart did sit down. ![]() Let me revise that- Anyone can learn IF they put the work in. True some people are more naturally gifted at others at certain skills such as sight reading, pitch matching, vocal tone, and others but anyone can learn. Shocker, right? It’s about practice, plain and simple. Well, I’m here to tell you there are no shortcuts to success in music. It was immediately clear to me that the person extending this invitation was not a music teacher, but a well-intentioned marketing representative eager to please parents. While the cringe-worthy title has some obvious pitfalls, let’s examine the reasons behind it for a moment. Recently I was invited to write a blog entitled “How to raise a music prodigy”. |
